The under representation of women in technology exists in the West and in India. The reasons for the low numbers of technical women in the workforce in both parts of the world exists for very similar reasons such as unconscious bias, stereotyping, women being primary responsible for the household, children or even care for the elders in the family. Many women also tend to have less confidence and lack of inspiration. The degrees may vary but the challenges are very similar.
